Kao što već vjerojatno znate, ovog ljeta nam dolazi film Cowboys & Aliens. Ali dok čekate taj okršaj na divljem zapadu, prikratite vrijeme uz Cowboys & Zombies! Odnosno The Dead and the Damned. Bilo je već nekih pokušaja da se spoje zombiji i kauboji (npr. Undead or Alive), ali ti pokušaju su uglavnom bili loši, i to poglavito zato jer im je nedostajalo financija za bolju produkciju. Navjerojatnije ni ovaj puta neče biti ništa bolje s ozirom da je riječ o niskobudžetnom nezavisnom projektu redatelja i scenarista Renea Pereza koji je koštao tek 200 000$. Ali ljubitelji zombie trash horraraca bi mogli doći na svoje jer film nudi pregrš gorea i tamanjenja zombija, te nešto sitno golotinje. Film je bio prikazan na Hole in the Head Festivalu još prošle godine, a 1. kolovoza 2011. u velikoj britaniji izlazi i na DVD-u.

Hot on the trail of a renegade Apache warrior, gun-slinging bounty hunter Mortimer passes through an 1849 California gold rush town, where local miners direct him into the mountains to track his prey.
While he is gone, the miners unearth a meteor that has landed in their sleepy town. As they crack it open, an explosion releases toxic spores, which quickly infect the entire population, transforming them into blood-thirsty, mutant zombies.
