“The Cardboard Village” is a multi-language immigration drama. All throughout the year, overloaded ships arrive on Italy’s shores carrying immigrants, the so-called “boat people”, in large part black Africans. The boats bringing the unwanted immigrants to Italy are chartered and manned by traffickers who are the real criminals, dealing with organized crime and financially exploiting the desperation of Africa’s poor people.
