Animirana pustolovna znastveno-fantastična akcija, snimljena u ko-produkciji Japana i Amerike, dolazi nam od redatelja, Shinjia Aramakia. Film se bazire na noveli Starship Troopers od pokojnog pisca, Roberta A. Heinleina. Scenarij potpisuje, Flint Dille, dok je Casper Van Dien izvršni producent, ali također i daje svoj glas u filmu. Zanimljivo je da će ovo biti direktan nastavak na prvi dio filma, koji zanemaruje nastavke Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation i Starship Troopers 3: Marauder. japanska Premijera filma bi se trebala dogoditi 21. srpnja 2012. godine, a u Americi film izlazi direknto na DVD-u i Blu ray-u  28. kolovoza 2012.

A distant Federation outpost Fort Casey comes under attack by bugs. The team on the fast attack ship Alesia is assigned to help the Starship John A. Warden stationed in Fort Casey evacuate along with the survivors and bring military intelligence safely back to Earth. Carl Jenkins, now ministry of Paranormal Warfare, takes the starship on a clandestine mission before its rendezvous with the Alesia and goes missing in the nebula.
