Kada je 2001. Steven Soderbergh najavio da će snimati remake filma Ocean’s Eleven, unatoč zvjezdanoj postavi koju su sačinjavali Clooney, Pitt, Affleck mlađi, Caan jr., Damon, Garcia i Julia Roberts, sumnjam da je itko mogao i zamisliti da će taj remake dobiti još i dva nastavka, Ocean’s Twelve i Ocean’s Thirteen. Soderbergh je odlučio stati na broju (1)3, ali sa pustolovinama jedne posve druge skupine profesionalnih lopova koji također žele izvesti gotovo nemoguću pljačku Casina će se pozabaviti redatelja i ko-scenarista Dong-hun Choia u Korejskom krimi trileru The Thieves. Baš kao i Soderbergov film, i ovaj je krcat glumačkim zvijezdama, ali Azijskim. U cijeloj skupini široj publici će vjerojatno kao najpoznatije ime i lice biti Simon Yam (Night Fall, Coming Back, Naked Soldier, The Blood Bond aka The Blood Bond Saga: Shadowguard, Xia dao Gao Fei aka Full Contact itd.), ali uz njega tu su još i Gianna Jun, Yun-seok Kim (Murderer aka The Yellow Sea), Angelica Lee (Sleepwalker 3D), Hye-su Kim, Kwok Cheung Tsang, te još mnogi drugi. Korejska premijera je zakazana za 25. srpanj 2012.

In order to let things cool down from their latest heist, Popeye and his group of thieves go to Macao on a job. But the mastermind behind this job is none other than Popeye’s old partner Macao Park, who escaped with 68kg of gold several years ago on their last job together.

Macao Park brought Chinese thieves as well but little did they know what Macao Park planned for each one of them. But his plan takes an unexpected turn when Popeye brings Pepsi, an old flame of Macao Park, to settle the old score. The thieves’ target is a $20 million diamond known as ‘Tear of the Sun’, kept safely away in a casino, brought there to be sold by a notorious Chinese fence. While working together to steal this fabled diamond, they all have their own agenda to keep the diamond for themselves. But who will succeed and live to see another day?
